Yes, we serve Pine Beach, ZIP 08741, along with neighboring Beachwood and Berkeley Township. Leak repair, siding fixes and trim capping are the jobs we do most here, along with roof replacements on older homes. We answer (732) 419-1462 around the clock, so call whenever you notice a problem.
What happens when you call us about a leak in Pine Beach
Leaks rarely start where the stain is, so we work from the outside in.
The call
Tell us where water is showing, when it appears (heavy rain, wind from one direction, snowmelt) and roughly how old the roof is. That pattern points us toward a short list of suspects before we arrive.
5 minutesStopping active water
If water is coming in, we tarp or temporarily seal the suspected area first, then help you move belongings and protect ceilings and floors inside.
As fast as weather allowsTracing the source
We check flashing at walls, chimneys and skylights, pipe boots, ridge vents and the attic sheathing. When needed we water-test one section at a time to confirm the entry point.
1 to 2 hoursThe repair
We replace failed flashing, boots or shingles and fix any soft decking found underneath. You see photos of what we found and what we changed.
Same visit or next dry dayFollow-up
After the next heavy rain, check the spot and let us know. If the roof is near the end of its life, we'll explain whether more repairs make sense or a replacement is the better spend.
After the next storm
Shoreline wind and big shade trees around Pine Beach homes
Pine Beach was incorporated in 1925 from part of Berkeley Township, and for decades the Admiral Farragut Academy campus and its sailing program on the river were part of daily life here, until the school's Pine Beach campus closed in 1994. The river frontage still sets the tone. Homes on the waterfront blocks take wind that funnels up from Barnegat Bay, and in a nor'easter that wind pushes rain sideways under flashing and into siding joints.
Away from the shoreline, the borough lives up to its name. Tall pines and oaks shade many lots, which keeps roofs cool in July but damp most of the year. Wood trim, fascia boards and window sills stay wet longer, and that's when rot sets in, especially where old paint has cracked. Needles and leaves in valleys add to it by holding water against shingles and flashing.
The housing mix is broad: older cottages, capes and colonials beside newer rebuilds. Many still have original wood trim under several coats of paint, which is why trim work comes up on so many of our visits here.
Siding and trim fixes that last in Pine Beach shade
Damp, shaded walls need materials that don't mind staying wet.
Capping old wood trim
We wrap sound window and door trim in bent aluminum coil, sealed at the head, so painting and rot stop being a yearly chore. See our page on PVC trim and window capping.
PVC trim replacement
Rotted corner boards, rakes and frieze boards get replaced with cellular PVC, which won't soak up water or grow mold the way bare wood does.
Fascia and soffit
Rotted fascia behind the gutters is replaced with new boards and then capped. Vented soffit keeps attic air moving under shaded eaves where moisture tends to linger.
Siding panel repair
Cracked or loose panels are replaced and re-locked, and we check the wrap and sheathing behind them for water staining before closing the wall back up.
Full re-side
On homes with failing wood or thin vinyl, a re-side with insulated vinyl or engineered wood siding gives the walls a fresh, durable skin and new wrap.
